I can't help it. I've got to go to the midnight sale of the new Harry Potter book. But this time, I've pre-ordered and should have a good place in line, unlike last time. Hopefully, I'll be able to get out of there in good time. I've got class tomorrow morning, but I will be hard pressed not to stay up all night reading the final volume in the series.
I feel so out of it, having never read a Harry Potter book before. Wonder how long it would take me to read the entire series?
ReplyDeleteI've also preordered, but I won't be able to pick it up till Monday (what was I thinking?).
ReplyDeleteI heard on the news that some poll said that 75% of people were NOT going to buy the last book. do you think that means something? Has Harry jumped the shark? Or was the poll only of 4 people, three of whom were over the age of 94?
ReplyDeleteIs that 75% of the general public? That would mean that 1 out of every 4 Americans are going to buy it. How many other books can compete with that?
ReplyDeleteI ordered mine online. And I went for the cheap shipping too, so who knows when I'll get it. So don't tell me anything. (Even though I have it all figured out anyway.)
ReplyDeleteHave fun! My lame ass is still reading book 4...
ReplyDeletey'know, back in my day, when we were in the mood for a little mystery we'd go to the shelf and pick out one of our old reliable Hardy Boys books. none of this modern day bewitchin' business, just good old-fashioned american crime solvin'
ReplyDeleteANAD: I always loved the way Nancy Drew was referred to as "the titan-haired teen."
ReplyDeleteI was amused for hours to think of her as either having the head of Saturn's biggest moon or else the head of Medusa the gorgon.
::chuckles:: yeah, those were good times.
I have my copy! I have my copy! Weeeeeeee!
ReplyDeleteMine goodwife is already on p. 120, and she got it only some 2+ hours ago.
ReplyDeleteShe don't read much, but when she do, WATCH OUT, NORTON!!
I won't disturb you. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteso who dies?
ReplyDeleteThe UCF finished the book in about 8 hours, while it took me about 11.
ReplyDeleteI may read it again next week for good measure.
Gennifer,
ReplyDeleteREAD IT! If you don't, you are missing out.
Frank,
Eleven hours? It took me two days. I read it slowly, knowing that it was coming to an end. I relished every word and then of course there was all the uncontrollable weeping. I'm an old softy.
