Happy New Year!

Havana Moon by Chuck Berry is the song for 2007.
***

Havana moon
Havana moon
Havana moon
Havana moon
***

All alone with a jug of rum
Sittin' waiting for the boat to come
Along the line they quietly dock
The boat she's late since twelve o-clock
And watch the tides come breezing in
Below the moon but high they went
***

Havana moon
Havana moon
Havana moon
Havana moon
***

Still all alone, I open a rum
I wonder when the boat should come
American girl comes back to me
We sail away across the sea
The dock in New York, the building is high
We'll find a home up in the sky
***

Havana moon
Havana moon
Havana moon
Havana moon
***

Still all alone, sipping on a rum
Still wonder when the boat should come
And bring my love, oh sweet little thing
She rocks 'n' rolls, she can dance and sing
She holds me tight, and she touches my lips
I had the clothes, and my heart she flips
***

Havana moon
Havana moon
Havana moon
Havana moon

  1. I was wondering that, too. I'm not familiar with the song so you'll need to clarify, missy. ;) I'm going with Girls Against Boys, "Park Avenue"

  2. I prefer "Love Stinks" by J. Giles Band or else "Tight Pussy, Loose Shoes and a Warm Place to Shit" by Alex Chilton

  3. This song came to me. You'll just have to trust that it is the song of 2007.

(of course I could be wrong...)

  4. I was thinking more along the lines of "Kung Fu Fighting". We are still at war, by the way. Besides, this tune is just chalk full of romance, love, and the power to sex you up!

  5. Noticed you have the cover of the Carlos Santana single, which is actually a great cover of the Chuck Berry original.

  6. I couldn't find much on Chuck Berry's version, not even a YouTube, sadly.

I'm sure Santana did it well. I'll have to see if I can find a copy of it.

I guess I could edit my post to include the lyrics. I love the relaxed feelings in the song. I'm hoping to remain this cool throughout the year.
