I'm going to kill this blog.
It's been 3.5 years and I'm devoid of good ideas for this blog (see previous post). I'm sure I could continue to report the awesomeness of my kids, my observations of the world, my dreams of celebrities. But, in the words of Lili Von Shtupp: I'm tired. I'd also like to spend more time writing my novel and figuring out how to make money as an editor (my true passion is correcting other people).
I do plan on continuing on at Culture of Beer; I've received approval from the boss over there to be a regular contributor. I may also revive Poor Man's Telepathy. But when I come here to write, all I hear is:
Tired of playing the game
Ain't it a crying shame
I'm so tired
God dammit I'm exhausted
It won't be an instant death. In fact, if anyone would like to guest host for me for awhile, we might be able to breath new life into this place. Just let me know in the comments or email me at greenpearl42 at yahoo dot com.
Peace out, my friends...I'll be at the bar, if you need me.

Hmmm... We discussed this th' other day and I think you're right: you ARE running out of either ideas or time or motivation. I'm a sucker for nostalgia and I hate to see things go, but at the same time if you're dragging a dead body around by the ankle, that's not a grand idea, either.
How about in addition to getting some guest bloggers in there you also do a "best of"?? Even with gobs and gobs of time on my hands I don't think I can sort thru 3.5 years of text and get the good stuff. You could get a few good weeks outta' going back thru your archives and winnowing out the goodies for republication while letting the chaff blow away. Hell, you could delete all the stuff you don't like and leave Prone with only the bestest stuff and start anew on something else.
I also like the idea of reviving Poor Mans T-- I'd like to be invited back to that and put a few things up there, as well, if'n U don't mind.
I'm torn re: whether I should ask 2 guest blog for Prone or not. I guess I could stick to the original charter and only put up lite and Whimsical stuff now that I'm not spending 8+ hours a day staring into the Abyss... I'll leave the judgement up to U if you wanna invite me or not.

Please tell me this is an April Fools joke!

Sniff...I've only known this blog for a while, and you even got me started on my new one. I guess you're just moving out of the spotlight, similar to Bobby Jones, the great amateur golfer who retired at the top of their game. Good luck Flannery.

I've been on the verge of quitting since I started. Lack of time is my biggest foil. Especially now that it's an animated production. Stepping away for a while may be what you need to recharge, or it may let you realize that it's a relief not to have to drum up new ideas all the time. Hope you do stick around for a while. Perhaps I can scare something up for you as a ghost blogger. I'll email you if I come up with anything.

Jeez. This sucks. Everybody is ending their blogs today. Of all days!

Flann- I know what you're saying and I've noticed it going around. It is becoming harder and harder for me to come up with stuff everyday.

I hate to move P2theW into my RIP section!
Of course there's little point in keeping up a hobby you don't enjoy any more, I suppose.
Hope to hear from you on CofB. Don't be a stranger.

Off topic, but... Is that a picture of Harry Potter killing the Riddle diary in Chamber of Secrets? (Yes, I have a 12-year old daughter...)

Sorry to see you fading away, but I understand.

I'd offer to post something as a guest-blogger but write now I am buried deep in writing all the crap you would like to be editing. ;(

I hear ya sister. I feel the same way, and other bloggies seem to, too.
At any rate, I've kept your email on file and hope to meet up some day.
Stay awesome, I crush you with my love,
Tanya

Well, while you may not write, could you maybe leave it up? I love re-reading some of your stuff : )
I'll miss this.

Hey, Flan, if you ever figure out how to make money as an editor, please blog about that. I, too, have a passion for correcting people. I get to do it a bit where I am now, but I'm hoping that when I move on it'll be to somewhere where writing/editing is a bigger part of the job.
