Hey! Those Are Fighter Planes Outside My Window!
Every Labor Day weekend, Cleveland throws an air show. The pilots practice for the big show on the Thursday and Friday beforehand. So, outside my 15th floor window, I can watch fighter planes zoom around over the city.
It's a bit of a treat, if an unsettling one. These boys are LOUD. And I get a flavor of what it must be like to live in a war-torn region these days. It's freaking me out a little bit.

I thought everyone who went to air shows were nerds, regardless of which city put it on.

I didn't even know Akron had an air show. I knew they had a bunch of Goodyear Blimps, though.

I didn't have to get any work done when they came to town. I worked as file clerk at a law firm in the BP Tower. We occupied the 34th, 35th and 36th floors. Every time the Blue Angels took a practice run, all the attorneys would race to the windows like giddy children. It was actually fun and it was pre 9/11, so nobody was freaked out when they'd glide right past the windows.

Wow! I was in Cleveland on the 31, 1st & 2nd for the Great Lakes Dragon Championship Regatta at Edgewater Yacht Club. We were treated to the Blue Angels as you were. They are LOUD, but they sure did show off on their practice runs. I'm from Mobile, Alabama, they are based in Pensacola, Florida, but I've never seen them in person.
