For the Benefit of Skyler's Dad

Rick Ocasek was the lead singer of the band The Cars. They had many hits such as "Let the Good Times Roll," "Drive," and the song above. He married the famous supermodel Paulina at some point and seems to have drifted out of the public eye.

I was never a huge fan, so it's weird he ended up in my dreams. However, most celebrities that show up in my subconscious aren't ones I'm usually obsessed over. But they do carry a message. Perhaps Rick's is "Let the good times roll," which I am totally fine with.

Thank God you are here for me Flannery! You really would not believe what I listened to most of my youth, all my friends (both of them) thought I was so weird...

I can't believe you've never heard of the Cars...

What did you think of the song?

Oh it's magic alright. You can't even see the glass table he is walking on.

Don't worry if you are unfamiliar with the Cars Sd. If you've heard one of their tunes, you have pretty much heard them all.

What kind of music did you listen to that was so weird?

Doc

Oh, I had heard of the cars before, but couldn't have named a single member of the group with a gun held to my head.

I was into folk music growing up, and sang in an accapella group for awhile. We did some mandragels (sp)and old stuff that I got a whole lot of grief about!

I love The Cars and I don't think their songs all sound the same, but then again, I can also distinguish between the many hits of AC/DC. It's a gift, really.

Wait-- *I* can distinguish the songs of AC/DC *and* the cars! Does this mean something?? Then again, I'm much more fond of the former than the latter...

I also can distinguish the differences in plotlines of the novels of Hermann Hesse despite his criticisms. I mean, c'mon, how can "Beneath the Wheel" POSSIBLY compare to "Steppenwolfe"??

Sheesh

All the GOOD Cars songs were sung by Benjamin Orr.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Yeah, all the Cars' songs are distinct, and I can't tell the difference between AC/DC's songs at all, so there ya have it.

And I do agree with Vikki; the best songs were the Ben songs.
